自分の子どもが、子ども集団のなかで明らかに不利な役割（いじめの対象になる、とか）を押しつけられている場合、親は、転校によって強制的に子ども集団を取り替えることで、役割（キャラ）をリセットできます。ハリスの集団社会化論によれば、これがいじめを解決する唯一の方法です（子どもを叱咤激励してもなんの役にも立ちません）。

地方で子どもの自殺が相次ぐのは、中学・高校までずっと（子どもにとっては未来永劫）いじめから逃れられないと知るからでしょう。大都市では、私立学校に進学することで友だち関係をリセットできますから、それが希望になります。
